I see you working that full-time job, clocking in and clocking out for someone else’s dream while yours sits on the back shelf.

I see you listening to your kids’ dreams wishing you could set the example and strike out on your own.

I see you longing to start or expand your business, longing to grow this the way your heart yearns for, yet full of self-doubt and spinning in a sea of “where to start?”.

If only you could win the lottery, you could totally CRUSH this thing!

You don’t need the lottery.

It’s why cliff divers don’t dive on cloudy days. It’s dangerous to jump if you can’t see where you’re going to land. But when you get clear on what you want to do and where you want it to take you, that’s when the opportunities begin.

I know you’re tired. I know you feel like this can never happen for you. I know you get to the end of the day and feel like you can’t do one more thing. But that’s what happens when your passion gets buried. That’s what happens when you ignore the dream that’s calling you.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

You know who you want to be. You want to be that business owner with the fire in her eyes. The one who gets her kids where they need to go, who plays and parties and travels and volunteers and is KILLING IT IN HER BUSINESS! The woman that makes people ask, where does she get all that energy?

She gets it from the dream itself. She goes to bed satisfied with the work she’s done and wakes up in the morning excited to see where her dreams and her ideas are going to take her next.

And when you get clear, you will too.

Because just like you, I just wanted to start a business. A little business. Not a big monster thing with investors and capital and boards and crap. Just me, changing my little corner of the world.

But I had just spent fifteen years as a stay-at-home mom, I had just moved to a completely new city, and I had just lost my mom to cancer.

I was worn down. I was grieving. I was already overwhelmed by day-to-day life.

Who was I to think I could start a business?

But the idea just wouldn’t let go.

So finally, I gave in and I got started.

I signed up for webinars and workshops and conferences, but it seemed like every piece of guidance I got conflicted with every other piece. Start small! Go big! Build a website! Stick with a Facebook page! Teach courses! Start with private coaching!

Auuugggghhh!

I just needed some freaking clarity!

I longed desperately for someone to hold my hand, stop the spin and remind me why I started my business in the first place. I dreamed of a coach or a mentor who would help me get back to the power of my original vision and then give me a list of steps to make it happen!

Just so you know, I never really found that person.

But somehow in the process of wishing for her, I BECAME her.

As I worked through webinar after webinar, as I attended workshop after workshop, I discovered that I have a gift for helping entrepreneurs get clarity.

I would chat with someone at a conference, then get an email saying it had changed everything for them.

I would do a Zoom call with a classmate, then get a call thanking me for helping them see a path they had never considered before.

My first reaction was “Wait! They got their clarity! WHERE’S MINE?!?” (You sensing that bitter tone there?)

Then I realized that their clarity was MY clarity. By helping other people find their next steps, I had found mine.

Whether you are absolutely clear on what you want your business to be and just need solid next steps or whether you aren’t even sure which of your eighty-two million ideas you should shoot for.
